The goal of Africulture Art Centre (AAC) is to counter the many challenges – including great unemployment levels, poor health conditions and environmental problems – faced by the people in Uganda. AAC aims at producing self-reliant and self-supporting individuals, families, communities, regions as well as improving the situation in Uganda at large. In its approach, AAC strives for the empowerment of local people, including the youth, by offering sustainable professional training in art, technical and vocational skills as well as health and environmental development skills. AAC believes that providing such skills does not only enable marginalized people to fulfill their professional career potential but also prepares and permits them to create and manage their own job opportunities. This ultimately leads to an improved livelihood. In all the daily training and production activities, AAC is pursuing this goal.
