Global Visions Forum is an event organized by Global Visions \u2013 an association that aims to bring together people, organizations, and ideas in the pursuit of a better world where justice and equality prevail. In the very first annual event, the key theme is a global basic income: how could it change the world for the better? How would it affect equality on a global scale? What would be its effects on the economy, politics, the environment, and the welfare of the people? These are only some of the focal issues that the speakers and panel will explore. PROGRAMME<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n Risto Marjomaa: State of the World in 2022<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n Risto Marjomaa is a University Lecturer at the Department of Philosophy, History and Art Studies at the University of Helsinki. His fields of science include the history of Africa and the Middle-East, history of conflicts and warfare, and global history. In this lecture Marjomaa discusses the state of the world in 2022 from a political and ecological perspective, which he views as the most pressing issues today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Petteri R\u00e4ty: Introduction to universal basic income \u2013 a modern cornerstone of a welfare state<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n Petteri R\u00e4ty is a chairperson of BIEN Finland (Suomen perustuloverkosto ry), that focuses on increasing discussion about UBI, advance implementation of UBI in Finland and follow international UBI initiatives. In his presentation R\u00e4ty offers an in-depth overview of the concept of a universal basic income.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Panel discussion: Global Basic Income<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n Marjomaa and R\u00e4ty are joined by Heikki Patom\u00e4ki, professor of global politics in the University of Helsinki, to discuss the possibilities and challenges of a universal basic income implemented as a global project. The introductory remarks for the discussion are made by the founder and chairman of Global Visions, Max Tallberg and the discussion is moderated by the project planner of the association, Petri Lahtinen.
